Overview

In the Life Transition Toolbox course, you will learn how to break down the overwhelming complexities of change into manageable steps, discover ways to bridge feelings of isolation by building meaningful connections, and develop techniques to cut through the fog and confusion of muddled transitions, empowering you to move forward with a renewed sense of direction and confidence.

Session One/Week One: Life Transitions

Life transitions are pivotal junctures that involve change, growth, and adaptation. They impact every facet of our lives, influencing how we perceive ourselves and interact with the world. What is the change you're undergoing? What phase are in of that change? What emotions are you experiencing? How successfully are you managing your emotions? What skills do you need to navigate a life transition? What strategies? Tools? Through visualization, mindfulness practices, journaling, quizzes, and activities, you'll gain a deeper understanding of whatever life transition you're experiencing and identify ways you can navigate that transition more smoothly.

Session Two/Week Two: Cultivating an Optimistic & Growth Mindset

What is an optimistic mindset? What is a growth mindset? Why are they important during a life transition? What do they have to do with resilience, problem-solving and overall well-being? How can we cultivate our mindset so we embrace challenges as opportunities, persist in the face of setbacks, and view failure as a springboard for growth and development? We'll delve deeper in the tools that can aid us: journaling, vision boards, meditation, mindfulness, and look at course, workshops, books, podcasts, affirmations, support networks, and coaching.

Session Three/Week Three: Letting Go of the Past
Why is letting go of the past important? What strategies can you use to let go? How do we acknowledge and accept what has happened so we can learn from experiences and choose to move forward? What are the challenges and obstacles? What are the solutions? Skills? Strategies? Tools? Techniques? We'll bring in forgiveness, self-compassion, and intentional focus on creating a positive and fulfilling future, release grudges, regrets and emotional burdens. And we'll open to new opportunities and growth.

Do I have to attend every session?

Yes. If you miss a one-on-one session, you’ll be asked to reschedule your session with the possibility of incurring a fee. If you miss a group session after the first two weeks, you’ll be asked to leave the program with the opportunity to finish with another group at another time.

What should I bring?

A notebook and something to write with. Books and worksheets will be provided for you.

How is The Grief Recovery Method® different from therapy?

The Grief Recovery Method® is a series of steps specifically designed to help you recover from major loss within a set time frame. Unlike traditional therapy, The Grief Recovery Method® comes with a pre-established framework, a distinct focus on grief, and a limited number of meetings.
